Disclaimer: DVA funding arrangements can change. Always verify your current entitlements with DVA or your treating GP. © 2026 Better Physiotherapy Bundoora.
Veterans and current ADF members who hold a DVA Gold or White Card are entitled to funded physiotherapy services — fully paid by the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Better Physiotherapy Bundoora accepts DVA patients and bills DVA directly, meaning no out-of-pocket cost to eligible veterans.
DVA Gold Card
The DVA Gold Card provides fully funded health care for all conditions — not just those related to military service. Gold Card holders can access physiotherapy for any condition including back pain, arthritis, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, neurological conditions, and any other health need. There is no cap on the number of sessions while treatment is clinically necessary.
DVA White Card
The DVA White Card provides fully funded health care for conditions that have been accepted as service-related. Physiotherapy is covered for those accepted conditions. If your condition is not yet accepted, you can apply to DVA to have it recognised as service-related.
How to Access DVA Physiotherapy
- See your GP and request a referral for physiotherapy, specifying the condition being treated

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a DVA Gold Card and White Card?
DVA Gold Card holders receive fully funded treatment for all health conditions — not just service-related ones. White Card holders receive fully funded treatment only for conditions that have been accepted as service-related. Both cards cover physiotherapy for their respective conditions.
How many DVA physiotherapy sessions can I have?
For Gold Card holders, there is no set limit on physiotherapy sessions — treatment continues as long as it is clinically necessary and the referring doctor supports ongoing care. White Card holders access sessions for their accepted service conditions under the same principle.
Can I access DVA physiotherapy for back pain or joint pain not related to service?
Gold Card holders yes — all health conditions are covered regardless of service relationship. White Card holders only for accepted service-related conditions.
Do I pay anything for DVA physiotherapy?
No. DVA pays your physiotherapy fees directly. There is no out-of-pocket cost for eligible DVA cardholders.
